About Us

We appreciate your interest in the Life Flight and your support of our program. Memorial Hermann Life Flight® is a critical care air medical transport service based in Houston, Texas. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems, Life Flight is Houston’s only hospital-based air ambulance service. It extends the hospital’s Emergency department to the sky and throughout the region, operating within a 150-mile radius of Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. The crew performs more than 3,000 adult and pediatric missions each year, making the John S. Dunn Helistop one of the busiest helipads in the world. The first air ambulance service in Texas and only the second in the country, Life Flight took its inaugural flight in 1976. Since then, Memorial Hermann Life Flight has flown more than 140,000 missions. The fleet operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in VFR (visual), or IFR (instrument) weather conditions.
